Physician Recruitment Process and Compensation Overview

Physicians are compensated at a base rate of $125 per hour, with additional RVU-based bonuses for higher productivity. For instance, exceeding the average of 2.5 RVUs per hour will result in an extra $35 per hour, and providers averaging 3 RVUs can earn $50 extra, scaling up to $75 for even higher productivity. Additional compensation is provided for last-minute coverage ($20 per hour) and for working holidays ($20 per hour). The position offers significant earnings potential, with many physicians earning upwards of $300,000 annually, before benefits.

Benefits include fully vested retirement plans after five years, matching 401k contributions, malpractice insurance, health, dental, and life insurance, as well as paid CME with a $3,000 allowance. PTO is accrued based on hours worked, with a maximum of 80 hours per year.

Example of the Monthly/yearly compensation breakdown (140hrs a month, or 1680 annually)

  • 140hrs a month x $125/hr =’s $17,500
  • $17,500 x 12 months =’s $210,000 annual earnings before production
  • If someone averaged 2.5wRVU’s per month, (1,680hrs x $160 = $268,800
  • Current group averages $63/hr in RVU’s, so (1680hrs x $188 - $315,840)
