Abdominal Radiology Overview

Banner Health University Medical Center Tucson is currently recruiting for a Radiologist that subspecializes in MR and Bodying Imaging help develop the future Radiologists and practice in the top of your field. Banner UMC Tucson is looking for someone to work alongside and collaborate with their colleagues, to grow the clinical programs, follow their curiosity and passion through research projects, and teach fellows and residents.  

Position Overview

  • Join a team of 6 Abdominal Imaging Radiologists & 3 Abdominal Imaging Fellows
  • Cover 2 Hospitals & 2 Outpatient Centers
    • 600 Bed Level I Trauma & 200 Bed Community Hospital 
  • Clinical, Research & Teaching Position
    • 4 Days in the Clinic
    • 1 Day Academic (Teaching or Research)   
    • Can add additional days in necessary
  • Equipment
    • 7 magnets, 3 in the hospital and two outpatient center
    • One in the Breast Imaging Center
    • Research magnet
    • 6 ultrasounds
    • 4 CT in the hospital
  • Reading Schedule- MR service, Inpatient & Outpatient CT coverage, Ultrasound, & Fluoro  
    • Daily Volume: 50-75 studies and 10 plain films 
    • 10,000-11,000 wRVU’s per year
  • Call 1:7- Call is all subspecialty driven (cover subspecialty inpatients and ED) 
    • 7-day call schedule. Monday-Monday 5pm-8am 
    • Typically, only 1-2 calls/week in the evenings! 
    • Saturday shift 7am-5pm 
    • You get the Monday off post call! 
    • ED typical turnover times for call. 3pm-midnight- two dedicated RADs for ED.  
    • Saturday shift on service with a fellow.  
    • 5pm-8am, three residents in rotation pool. 
    • ED Rad faculty member reads studies until midnight (on call person takes up the call)
