Bozeman Health currently has one endocrinology provider, Dr. Brian Rose, whose current lead time is over 42 days. There is substantial opportunity for outreach, if desired.
The is an outpatient position, and you will work at the medical office on the Deaconess Regional Medical Center campus. The office offers general endocrinology, diabetes clinic, and nutrition services. The scope of practice is ages 18 and up, and the breakdown is around 60% general endocrinology and 40% diabetes patients. Dr. Rose performs a healthy volume of thyroid biopsies, for which ultrasound is available in the clinic for ultrasound guided biopsies. Other common cases include other thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, testosterone injections, hypertension, tumors and cancer, and cholesterol and lipid abnormalities.
Support staff includes 1:1 MA to provider model, a PCT in office that assists in rooming patients and helping with paperwork, and a nurse navigator, who helps with call backs. Hospitalists are trained to manage inpatient diabetes, so the endocrinologists are not expected to see these patients. Also, there are two pediatric endocrinologists in town for pediatric support and referrals. Bozeman Health uses EPIC EMR.
