Navigating the Clinical Component

This position provides a well-rounded mix of diagnostic imaging and light interventional radiology (IR) procedures in a highly efficient, technologically advanced environment. The radiology department supports a 265-bed Level 3 Trauma Center with a diverse caseload and a steady volume of studies.

Caseload & Modalities

  • Average 80–90 reads per day across multiple modalities.
  • Case mix includes:
  • CT, MRI, ultrasound, PET-CT, and plain film.
  • Minimal nuclear medicine.
  • Light IR responsibilities, including:
  • Drainages, thoracentesis, paracentesis, kyphoplasty's, and nephrostomy tube exchanges.
  • No high-end IR procedures required.
  • Mammography not required for this position.

Work Schedule & Coverage

  • Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM.
  • 42 work weeks per year with options for a hybrid schedule (on-site & remote reading).
  • Nighthawk service covers after-hours (5 PM – 8 AM).
  • Weekend coverage is shared among the radiology team.

This role is structured to ensure a manageable workload, allowing the radiologist to focus on high-quality interpretations and collaborative care with referring physicians.

Staff
This opportunity is part of a well-established radiology group that values teamwork, efficiency, and clinical excellence. The practice consists of four full-time radiologists who work collaboratively to provide high-quality diagnostic interpretations and light interventional procedures. 

Current Radiology Team

  • Four full-time radiologists with extensive experience in diagnostic imaging.
  • Two radiologists specialize in mammography, but this role does not require mammography interpretation.
  • Strong support from technologists, administrative staff, and referring physicians to ensure efficiency and workflow optimization.

Referring Physicians & Subspecialty Collaboration

  • Close collaboration with general surgeons, neurologists, neurosurgeons, and cardiologists.
  • Radiologists regularly consult with referring specialists to ensure high-quality, patient-centered imaging interpretations.

Future Growth & Succession Planning

  • Two senior radiologists will transition into retirement within the next two to three years.
