Predominantly Outpatient practice with access to clinical trials through the Academic Group at UCSF-Fresno.
3 Infusion Centers with 68+ Chairs, RNs assist at the Infusion Center + Laboratory Services.
56 Infusion Chairs are located on the same campus as our clinic and Cancer Institute.
Dedicated MA to assist with rooming and other supportive services.
Patient Experience Navigator to aide in follow up and other elements in the patient flow.
Call:
The team is working towards creating 24/7 first call support, but we are not there yet. As such there is no rigid call structure in place and the providers do what they can to support without being tethered to their phones too often. Our Hospitalist group is the “Attending Provider” and will round on the patients in the hospital and they will coordinate and collaborate with the Medical Oncologists as needed. To help with additional support, we are recruiting two mid-level providers, APPs, to help with the hospital presence and call coverage.
Process:
We prioritize direct admissions at our Clovis Community Hospital campus. Our Medical Oncologists only direct admit to one hospital, Clovis Community. If a patient shows up at our sister hospital, Community Regional Medical Center, the UCSF Medical Oncology group will cover that patient and their care.
We collaborate with UCSF and Stanford for any referrals that need to be sent out. Our facilities have everything the patient could need, and all surgical capabilities are on hand, but some exceptions are made by Dr. Moffett in accordance with the treatment plans.
Our Radiation Oncologists are in the same building as our Medical Oncologists, located in the Community Cancer Institute. Radiation Oncology and their linear accelerator are located on the first floor. Surgical Oncology services are housed in the building next door to the Community Cancer Institute at Valley Surgical Services. We have several surgeons employed through our group that perform surgeries at the Valley Surgical Services building. Also, some providers in our Oncology Program are either private practice or academic focused surgeons.
