Meet the Team

New Specialty Service

As the community's primary dermatologist at Good Shepherd Medical Center, you will have the unique opportunity to help build your team from the ground up. Rather than inheriting established staff dynamics or navigating the politics of an existing department, you'll collaborate with leadership to recruit and develop a cohesive team aligned with your vision for dermatological care. This staffing approach allows you to create a practice culture that emphasizes your preferred balance of efficiency, thoroughness, and patient experience.

Dedicated Support for Your Practice

From day one, you'll have access to an advanced practice provider who will work collaboratively with you to extend your clinical impact. Unlike practices where APPs function independently with minimal physician oversight, this partnership will be structured according to your preferences, allowing for supervision levels and workflow integration that match your practice philosophy.

  • Advanced practice provider dedicated to dermatology
  • Opportunity to mentor and develop APP skills in alignment with your practice approach
  • Ability to design collaborative workflows that optimize both patient care and clinical efficiency
  • Support staff dedicated to your specialty practice rather than shared across multiple specialties
  • Input on hiring decisions to ensure team compatibility and shared vision

Collaborative Medical Community

While establishing a new specialty service, you'll join a supportive medical community eager to welcome dermatological expertise. Good Shepherd Medical Center fosters a collaborative culture where providers work together to deliver comprehensive care.

  • Established network of primary care physicians eager to refer dermatological cases
  • Administrative leadership committed to the success of the new service line
  • Good Shepherd is hiring new practice managers to support expanding sub-specialty lines
  • Virtual interview process including key leadership: Dr. Larson (CMO), Danielle (VP), and Jonathan (COO/CFO)
  • Justine Taylor serves as Director of Ambulatory Clinics, providing operational leadership
  • Culture that values physician input in organizational decision-making

Current Dermatology Coverage

The current dermatology care model relies on visiting specialists from the Tri-Cities who provide limited coverage three days per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday). This arrangement creates significant access challenges for patients and fails to meet the community's growing dermatological needs. Your full-time presence will transform access to care while providing the consistent coverage that visiting providers cannot deliver.

  • Existing visiting dermatology team demonstrates proven demand for services
  • Opportunity to establish relationships with these providers for collaborative care if desired
  • Clear market need demonstrated by current referral patterns to Tri-Cities and Walla Walla
  • Potential to develop complementary services not currently offered by visiting providers

In Summary

This position offers the rare opportunity to establish your ideal practice environment with supportive leadership and dedicated staff. As the first full-time dermatologist in the community, you'll transform access to care while building a team aligned with your vision for dermatological excellence.
