At Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston, OR, Emergency Medicine physicians are offered a highly competitive compensation package, with an hourly rate of $320. This translates to a substantial annual income depending on the number of shifts worked. For those opting for a schedule of 10 shifts per month, the yearly earnings amount to $460,800. Physicians who prefer a busier schedule, working 12 shifts per month, can anticipate a total annual compensation of $552,960. This pay structure not only reflects the value placed on the physician’s expertise and commitment but also offers flexibility in balancing work and personal life while ensuring financial reward. To further support new physicians, Good Shepherd offers a $25,000 sign-on bonus and handles relocation expenses through a third-party service that directly bills for moving costs, making the transition as seamless as possible.

Physicians at Good Shepherd also enjoy a generous benefits package, including 256 hours (equivalent to 6 weeks) of paid time off (PTO) and an annual CME allowance of $3,000 along with 40 hours of dedicated CME time. The retirement plan is robust, with Good Shepherd contributing up to 6% of total earnings through a 403b plan. This includes an employer contribution of 4% directly into the employee's account, and an additional 50% match on employee contributions up to 4%. Physicians also have the option to participate in a 457 Deferred Compensation Plan and an optional 401k.
