Urgent Care
Your colleagues at Good Shepherd Urgent Care include a mix of physicians and advanced practice providers who share coverage across both locations. The team recently expanded to meet increased patient demand following the extension of urgent care hours to 7am-7pm, seven days a week. This growth reflects the organization's commitment to staffing adequately rather than stretching providers thin, and it creates scheduling flexibility that benefits everyone on the team.
Robert McCauley, MD leads the urgent care as Medical Director while also serving as Medical Director for Emergency Services. His dual role ensures coordination between the urgent care clinics and the Level III Trauma Center across the street, creating clear pathways when patients need higher-level care. Dr. McCauley completed his emergency medicine fellowship at Duke University Hospital and his residency at the University of Utah Medical Center after earning his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Before joining Good Shepherd, he served as regional medical director for Team Health, overseeing all Team Health physicians across the Pacific Northwest. His focus on reducing wait times and improving patient experience shapes the culture of both departments.
The urgent care team also provides occupational health services, adding variety to the clinical work and serving the region's agricultural and industrial employers. This collaborative environment means you will work alongside colleagues who understand the pace and scope of urgent care medicine, with physician backup readily available for complex cases or questions that arise during your shifts.
