As a Family Nurse Practitioner at Grande Ronde Hospital, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a wide variety of acute medical conditions and traumatic injuries in patients of all ages. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will ensure timely and efficient care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department (ED).

Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care: Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients presenting to the ED with medical, surgical, and traumatic emergencies. Perform life-saving interventions, including airway management, resuscitation, and stabilization of critically ill or injured patients.

Collaboration: Collaborate with ED physician, nursing staff, ancillary support services, and consultants to ensure optimal patient care. Coordinate and communicate effectively with primary care providers, specialists, and other healthcare professionals involved in the patient's care.

Documentation: Accurately and thoroughly document patient encounters, diagnoses, treatment plans, and patient outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care, safety, and satisfaction within the ED.

Continuing Education: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in emergency medicine and maintain appropriate certifications and licensure. 

Clinical Components:
25-bed Critical Access Hospital: Grande Ronde Hospital serves as a crucial healthcare resource for the rural community, providing essential medical services and emergency care to patients with limited access to larger healthcare facilities.

Level IV Trauma Center: As a Level IV Trauma Center, the ED at Grande Ronde Hospital is equipped to provide advanced trauma life support, stabilization, and transfer of patients to higher-level trauma centers when necessary.

Diagnostic Services: The hospital offers comprehensive diagnostic services, including radiology, laboratory, and ultrasound, to assist in the evaluation and management of patients presenting to the ED.

Telemedicine: Grande Ronde Hospital utilizes telemedicine services to expand access to specialty care, consultations, and follow-up appointments for patients in the rural community.

Transfer and Referral System: A well-established transfer and referral system is in place to facilitate timely and efficient transfers of patients requiring specialized care to tertiary care centers.

Multidisciplinary Team: Work in close collaboration with a team of experienced emergency medicine providers, nursing staff, and support personnel, as well as other medical specialists within the hospital.
