Enclosed are details on compensation, their benefits package, and their interview process. I have personally helped recruit 3 physicians to the organization and area so I’m happy help guide you through any of these topics, including what you should expect to see in the contract, so you have all the information you need to make an evidence-based decision.

General Compensation Structure

  • An ongoing base salary: Determined by your overall experience, years in practice, and skills that you bring to the role. Salary is determined and presented at the end of the interview process. 
  • Additional bonuses may be available to you and presented in the offer, such as: 
    • APP collaboration
    • Productivity bonus
    • Other initiatives related to the role

  • Occurrence-Based Malpractice Insurance/Tort Exempt 
    • Excerpt from Howard Brown’s employee agreement: “The Department of Health and Human Services, in accordance with the Public Health Services Act, 42 U.S.C. 233, has deemed Howard Brown, its officers, directors and employees, and certain of its individual (not corporate) contractors to be employees of the United States effective May 15, 2006, for the purposes of medical malpractice liability. Therefore, Provider and Howard Brown are protected by the Federal Tort Claims Act (the “FTCA”) and are immune from lawsuit so long as all requirements of Section 233 are met. The only remedy available to a plaintiff is to file a claim against the United States under the provisions of the FTCA. Only acts and omissions occurring on or after May 15, 2006 are covered by the FTCA. Moreover, covered individuals are protected only for activities within the scope of their employment (or contract for services) with the Howard Brown and within the approved scope of project of their Section 330 grant.”

Interview and Contract Process

First IV: Phone screen by Michael Reynolds, Manager of Recruiting for Howard Brown
Second IV: Zoom Interview with Dr. Patrick Gibbons.
Third IV: Formulated, Virtual Panel interview with Drs. Gibbons and some providers from various clinics.
Fourth IV: Onsite (if needed) 

Post Interview Process

Michael will extend an offer to you verbally and in an email, explaining the compensation structure and benefits. Once you accept, they will email their employee agreement via DocuSign. Once you sign that contract, you will plan out your start date and start their credentialing process which typically takes 8-12 weeks. I can also help you with the medical licensing process if you don’t already have an Illinois license.
