BODY IMAGER
The Body Imager would ideally have strong body imaging skills (particularly abdominal and pelvic MR) and be willing to do some breast imaging (including diagnostic mammo and biopsies). They would also have to do some general Radiology. We would consider someone who does only body imaging and general radiology, or someone who does breast imaging that has the full-range of skills, including breast MR and MR guided biopsies.
The Body Imager will cover the MedStar Union Memorial Hospital and MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital, which are 3.2 miles apart.
You will have full technologist and administrative support. You would be part of the tumor boards in partnership with the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Our average Radiologist reads about 10,000-11,000 RVU’s annually.
NEURO-RADIOLOGIST
The Neuro-Radiologist, besides being fellowship trained or have 4-5 years of Neuro experience, should also have general Radiology skills as well. Modalities include MRI, CT, US, XR. We currently have two other Neuro-Radiologists. You will have full technologist, NP and administrative support.
The Neuro-Radiologist will only cover the Franklin Square Hospital located in Essex north of Baltimore. You would be part of the tumor boards in partnership with the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Our average Radiologist reads 10,000-11,000 RVU’s a year.
Both positions are Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm. Call is 1:5 weekends (7 hours each day) from home only. There may be an occasional evening shift from home in place of a daytime shift. There is NO overnight call, as we have an internal Nighthawk service.
Dr. Raza, the Chair at Franklin Square, told us “This is a very stable system, very collegial, and all the Radiologists have been here a long time. The only reason they leave is due to retirement or if they move out of state”. Every provider we spoke with said the same thing, “It’s a great quality-of-life lifestyle. We are like a family. We are busy, but we help each other with the workload. Even during the height of the pandemic, we had no lay-offs”.
Our main competition comes from Advanced Radiology, which is part of RadNet, and Johns Hopkins. Our Union Memorial Hospital has about 40% of the business in the Baltimore market. MedStar has 65% of the DC market and 24% of the Maryland market.
