This position presents an exceptional opportunity for a pediatrician to join Memorial Hospital and Manor, a well-regarded community hospital in Bainbridge, Georgia. The incoming pediatrician will inherit an existing patient panel from Dr. Price, who is retiring after a decade of dedicated service. This turnkey practice ensures a seamless transition and immediate patient base, providing a stable foundation for the new physician.
The practice setting is a community hospital that fosters a collaborative environment, bringing together a team of three experienced pediatricians, two nurse practitioners, and several medical assistants. The role is primarily outpatient, offering a flexible schedule between Monday to Friday with a manageable patient load of 20 to 25 patients per day. This predictable routine allows the physician to focus on delivering high-quality care without the uncertainty of fluctuating schedules.
The new pediatrician will join in a manageable 1:4 call rotation predominantly conducted over the phone. While call is primary consultative there is a rare chance of being called in to assist in the labor and delivery department. In 2023, we had roughly 400 deliveries. Recently, a local labor and delivery unit closed in a neighboring town, so we anticipate the number of deliveries to increase to 450 deliveries in 2024. According to Dr. Smith, the pediatric team was called in to assist only 3 or 4 times last year. With that said, if the incoming provider were called in and needed assistance, they could call Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, or they could call one of the three other providers to come in as backup.
