Robert Pepper, M.D.
Family Medicine

Dr. Robert Pepper is Morgan Medical Center’s primary care physician. Board-certified in family medicine, he joined our outpatient clinic after spending more than 25 years serving as a physician and missionary in West Africa. He and his wife, Rhonda, a Rutledge native, are proud to call Morgan County their home.

Danielle Cannington, RN, MSN, FNP-C
Family Medicine

Danielle Cannington specializes in family medicine and women’s health. She is passionate about providing patients with the knowledge and support they need to manage their health and wellness.

As a certified family nurse practitioner, Danielle is qualified to diagnose medical problems, order treatments, perform advanced procedures, prescribe medications, and make referrals for a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions. Prior to joining our outpatient clinic, she was a hospitalist at Morgan Medical Center where she helped manage the care of hospitalized and rehabilitation patients.

Jacob Werkin, M.D.
General Surgery

Dr. Jacob Werkin is a board-certified general surgeon with a passion for connecting with patients and supporting their health and wellness. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and his medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at Mount Carmel Health in Columbus, Ohio.

Martin Gallo, M.D.
OBGYN

Dr. Martin Gallo is proud to bring his women’s health expertise to the Madison community. He has practiced medicine for more than 30 years with Northwestern Medicine Regional Medical Group in Winfield, Illinois. He received his medical degree from Northwestern University and completed his residency at the Northwestern Medicine Prentice Women’s Hospital.

After delivering 5,000 babies in his career, Dr. Martin Gallo limited his practice to gynecology and surgery and decided to relocate to Georgia after the youngest of his four children enrolled in the University of Georgia. Dr. Martin Gallo and his wife, Shannon, now live in the Lake Oconee area.

Gastroenterology

There will be a new GI rotating down to Madison starting in April. He is going to be renting space two miles from the hospital and will be the main referral for GI cases as he'll be doing all his procedures and everything here at the hospital. The plan is for him to have a day or two a couple times per month of doing scopes.
