Physician Recruitment Process and Compensation Overview

The incoming physician will be employed through PeaceHealth Sacred Hearts Medical Center RiverBend.

Contract length: PeaceHealth Employment Agreement is considered Evergreen following initial 12-month period and is automatically renewed each year.

If the physician decides to end the agreement, we request 90 days and if the physician’s services are no longer needed, we give 90-day notice.

The incoming Vascular Surgeon will have a salary guarantee of $550,000 for 18 months. At month 19, they will convert to wRVU productivity. 

Current wRVU conversion rate roughly $69 (50th%tile). Production is paid out Quarterly.

Candidates will also have an opportunity to earn up to 10% in value measures beginning in month 19. However, if the incoming Vascular Surgeon decides to move to productivity sooner (minimum of 6 months), they will be eligible for the value measure bonus sooner.

Value measures are established annually by the PHMG System Medical Executive in consultation with the Network Divisions Chiefs in each specialty. Value measure categories include:
Quality (up to 4% of specialty specific median comp)
Patient Experience (up to 4% of specialty specific median comp)
Finance (up to 2% of specialty specific median comp)

Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision - Families are eligible for health/dental/vision benefits. We have 3 health plans to choose from. The cost for them is subsidized by PeaceHealth.

PTO:  32 Days

CME Allowance: $3,300 annually, any unused CME can be rolled over 1 time.

Retirement: Two plans that PeaceHealth funds. If a physician stays 5 years and they participate in a match program, PeaceHealth will contribute up to 8% between the two programs, up to the maximum allowed by the government. There is also a 457f for an additional 5% of what did not qualify.

Long/Short Term Disability: Yes

Life Insurance: Yes

Malpractice insurance and tail coverage – Claims made $3mil/$5mil.

Sign-on bonus: $30,000, forgiven after 3 years of employment. If the Vascular Surgeon leaves within the first 3 years, they are required to repay a pro-rated portion of their employment bonus.

Relocation: $10,000 Lump sum within 30 days after they start. No receipts. Or they could use our contracted relocation company to spend that money.

Student Loan Repayment: Max of $50,000, $10,000 annually paid internally over 5-years by PeaceHealth. Is this paid directly to the provider after proof of receipts.
