Our hospital has a long history in the Willamette Valley, dating back to 1950 when the North Santiam area community leaders formed a nonprofit organization with the mission to build a community hospital. By 1953, the hospital doors open, after much appreciation to generous donations from more than 3,000 community individuals and businesses.
As the community grew, so did the hospital. In 2011, construction began on the west tower, which doubled the size of the hospital. Upon its completion in 2012, the hospital campus became home to the Santiam Surgery Center, Santiam Family Birth Center with a C-section unit on the same floor, and the Medical Surgical Unit/ICU.
The Santiam Surgery Center offers state-of-the-art technology with spacious surgical suites and same-day surgery options for patients, all offered right in the comfort of your community. Our Family Birth Center offers a wide range of birthing options, including the only hospital with in-room water labor tubs and telemedicine coordination with OHSU NICU. The ICU supports a range of critical care options with your care group, including highly trained ICU Nurses, Hospitalists, Pulmonologist, and Telemedicine with OHSU.
