Emergency Department:
The Winter Haven Hospital Emergency Department has expanded and is now more efficient than ever before. We offer convenient, efficient medical treatment for minor or major emergencies and illnesses, ranging from lacerations, sports injuries and the flu to heart attack or stroke symptoms.
Winter Haven Hospital’s Emergency Department sees approximately 50,000 patients annually. It has 51 emergency beds with four beds for minor emergencies. The emergency department treats 17 medical specialties including cardiac, pediatric, obstetrics, orthopedics, psychiatric and neurology. It also has access to intensive care (ICU) and neonatal intensive care units (NICU). The emergency department includes on-site assessment and diagnosis for expedited treatment without time-consuming transports.
