Tenet Healthcare started as a small operation in California. In 1969, they acquired four hospitals, additional care facilities and real estate for the development of future hospitals. What differentiates Tenet, is that their service lines are specifically tailored within each community they serve.
Tenet Health Central Coast is an integrated healthcare system consisting of two acute care hospitals and four affiliated entities, including urgent care centers, clinics and ancillary services across the Central Coast. The hospitals are Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center, county’s only trauma center, in San Luis Obispo and Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton, California.
Sierra Vista houses the largest Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit between Santa Barbara and Salinas, the only dedicated pediatric unit in San Luis Obispo County. Sierra Vista is recognized as a leader in orthopedics, cancer care, and is a Joint Commission accredited primary stroke center. Sierra Vista is one of the largest private employers in the county, with nearly 800 employees caring for over 30,000 patients annually. Sierra Vista is fully accredited by the Joint Commission and has been serving the community since 1959.
