Physician Recruitment Process and Compensation Overview

As a Musculoskeletal Radiologist at UCI, you will receive a highly competitive academic compensation package with guaranteed salary, performance incentives, and a comprehensive benefits program. The department follows a transparent, team-based approach to compensation, ensuring financial stability while also rewarding productivity and academic contributions.

Guaranteed Salary & Compensation Structure 

UCI follows the AAA Radiology benchmark survey, with a 90% guaranteed salary and additional earning potential based on division productivity. Salaries are structured as follows: 

  • Assistant Professor: $370K – $380K
  • Associate Professor: $350K – $370K
  • Full Professor: $400K+ 

Faculty members can earn additional team-based productivity bonuses:

  • 10% additional bonus if the MSK Division reaches 60% productivity.
  • An extra 5% bonus if productivity exceeds 70%.

While call is included in base salary, additional shifts beyond the standard workload can provide opportunities to further increase earnings.

A signing bonus may be offered based on interview discussions, and loan repayment assistance is available for eligible faculty.

  • Continuing Medical Education (CME) Support:
  • CME funds are available to cover professional development, licensing, and board certification costs. 
  • Relocation Assistance: 
  • Support for moving expenses is budget-dependent on the candidate’s current location.

  • Protected Academic Time: 20% protected academic time for at least two years, allowing faculty to focus on research, teaching, and scholarly activities.

  • Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Eligibility: Faculty members with federal student loans may qualify for loan forgiveness through PSLF while working at UCI.
