The University of California, Irvine, Department of Neurology is recruiting for stroke/vascular neurology specialist to join our expanding Comprehensive Stroke Center. All applicants must possess an MD or MD/PhD and hold California Board Certification or be California License eligible. The successful candidate will be fellowship-trained in stroke/vascular neurology, and provide patient care and teaching.
Positions are open in the non-tenure clinical track faculty position in the Health Sciences Clinical series while the second open position is expected to be at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level in the Clinical X series.
Successful candidates are expected to develop robust clinical practices, to participate in clinical trials, and to be involved educators. Outstanding training in clinical care of cerebrovascular disease and a strong research background in a related area is expected. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on availability of support
The candidate must demonstrate capabilities for teaching, research, and professional service suitable to the Health Sciences Clinical series or Clinical Neurology series. The incumbent will primarily provide excellent clinical service, with particular focus on one or more sub-specialties within Cerebrovascular division. There will be additional expectations for teaching students and residents, engagement in research or clinical trials, and performance of university and public service.
