Current team of 10 critical care trained trauma surgeons. Additional structure:
- ACS specialty lead
- GME surgery program director
- TMJ
- SICU lead
- EGS lead

Surgical residency program with 3 residents per year – general and orthopedic – not overly academic but teaching is available

140k Annual ED Visits

Full spectrum acute care – trauma, EGS, surgical CC – A lot of EGS here at Wellstar

FY2023 1,900 trauma activations with total registry volume of 3,300

15% penetrative; remaining blunt

Operative cases between EGS/Trauma FY2023 1,300 total surgical cases and 700 were EGS.

Scheduling: most are 12x12hr shifts with some 24hr but is flexible – the schedule is built out 3 months out to take time off without dipping into PTO.

Rotate ICU weeks equitably usually 1 week at a time but flexible.

Take all providers availability, vacation, and preferences ad accommodate accordingly. Professional courtesy – “you scratch my back I’ll scratch yours”

Surgery residents and ED resident rotate through for an extra set of hands in trauma bay

24/7 APP coverage – 2 on each service and 1 at night.

Robotic experience preferred but not required.

All sub-specialty available – ortho trauma, IR, neuro, OMS, vascular, hand, -etc.
