Understanding the Role

CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic is adding a general neurologist to its multispecialty clinic in Shreveport, Louisiana. The neurology service opened in October 2024 and has operated with a single neurologist since launch. This position expands capacity as referral volume continues to build across the Shreveport-Bossier region.

Why This Position Exists

Neurology is one of the newest specialty services CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic has brought to northwest Louisiana. The clinic launched neurology in October 2024 to keep patients from traveling outside the region for care, and demand has supported the addition of a second physician.

Shreveport and neighboring Bossier City form the third largest metropolitan area in Louisiana, with a combined population approaching 450,000. The region serves as the commercial and medical hub of the Ark-La-Tex, where Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas meet, so the clinic's service area reaches well beyond the city limits.

Practice Setting

You would practice in an outpatient multispecialty clinic that houses four service lines under one roof:

Neurology
Gastroenterology
Pain Medicine
Podiatry

The layout allows neurology patients to reach related specialists without leaving the building, which shortens referral loops for chronic pain, movement disorders, and neuromuscular complaints.

Scope of the Role

General neurology practice treating adult patients
Subspecialty interests are welcome and can be built into the practice
Conditions treated at the clinic include migraine and headache, epilepsy, neuropathy, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease and other cognitive disorders, stroke follow-up, brain and spine injuries, and movement disorders
Neurophysiology diagnostics are offered on site

Qualifications

Required:

MD or DO
Board certified or board eligible in Neurology
Unrestricted Louisiana medical license, or eligibility to obtain one

Reporting Structure

CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic is a physician led medical group with its own board of directors. Each service line operates under a dyad leadership model that pairs a physician leader with an administrative leader, so clinical decisions stay with practicing physicians while operations are managed alongside them.

The group was named the 2018 AMGA Acclaim Award winner and is recognized as a Top 50 physician group in the United States.
