Physician Staff

Achal Pankaj Modi, MD Urology | Board Certified, American Board of Urology

Dr. Modi completed his medical degree at Ohio State University College of Medicine, where he served as class president. He completed his urology residency at Ohio State and The James Cancer Hospital, where he also published research on minimally invasive treatments for urologic diseases. He has practiced in the Waxahachie community for over ten years and has developed one of the most active urology practices in Ellis County.

His clinical focus includes:

  • Kidney stones
  • Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
  • Prostate cancer and elevated PSA management
  • Bladder cancer
  • Female urinary dysfunction
  • Vasectomy

Dr. Modi is trained in robotic surgery but does not currently perform robotic cases due to clinic volume demands. He has expressed strong interest in partnering with a physician who can bring robotic surgical capability to the practice, which would allow the team to retain complex oncology cases currently being referred to Fort Worth.

Clinical Support

The clinical support team has been in place for nearly a decade. Dr. Modi's medical assistants have worked with him for most of his time in the community, reflecting a stable and experienced team. Leadership noted this consistency as a meaningful part of the practice culture.

Team Culture

Leadership and Dr. Modi both emphasized that personality fit is a priority in this search. The practice values:

  • Collaborative, team-first approach to patient care
  • Mutual respect between physicians and staff
  • Willingness to share cases and patient volume
  • Long-term commitment to the community

Dr. Modi has indicated he is fully open to transferring cases to a new partner, particularly those that fall within a subspecialty area such as robotics or oncology.
