You enter a compensation structure that reflects the hospital’s commitment to attracting and retaining anesthesiologists who want predictable income and a lifestyle that is hard to match in larger markets. Cody Regional Health offers secure earnings, a choice of employment models, and additional compensation for extra call or clinical coverage. The focus is straightforward: give you financial stability without tying your success to unsustainable surgical volume.

Compensation Package

  • Salary: $475,000 for 26 weeks/year! (same salary for 1099 or W2)
  • Sign/Relocation: $50,000
  • CME: $6,500/year

Compensation Structure

You have the option to practice as an employed physician or shift into a 1099 model if desired. Several current physicians have transitioned to 1099 because it aligns with their personal and business goals. The hospital is flexible, and the structure is transparent.

  • W-2 employment or 1099 model available
  • Stable income not dependent on high RVU production
  • Additional compensation for voluntary extra shifts or call, often exceeding typical locums rates
  • Schedule built to protect your time off, enhancing the value of your earnings

Income Environment and Productivity Expectations

Physicians in the Mountain West operate in a different productivity environment than high-volume states. Anesthesiologists here typically generate around four thousand RVUs annually, compared to eleven to thirteen thousand in southern markets. The financial model accounts for this difference so you can practice sustainably without pressure for excessive case volume.

  • Potential tax advantages depending on business structure
  • Flexibility to work additional clinical weeks outside Cody if desired
  • Option to keep a spouse involved in business administration roles
  • You will still receive a CME stipend and a $10,000 annual Malpractice Insurance stipend as benefits in this model.
