Physician Recruitment Process and Compensation Overview

A Compensation Model That Matches High Community Need and Surgeon-Driven Volume

General Surgery compensation includes a $500,000 base salary with a wRVU incentive plan using current MGMA benchmarks. Thresholds and conversion factors depend on the base salary chosen. This keeps the compensation fair as the surgical program rebuilds and volume grows under your direction.

The hospital offers a signing bonus and relocation package. Malpractice coverage includes tail insurance. Benefits include health, life, retirement, and CME consistent with all full-time employed physicians.

Time Away and Schedule Structure

You receive four weeks of vacation and one week of CME with an allowance. The practice operates with daytime hours only. There is no trauma, no 24 hour coverage, and no call requirement. You determine how much block time you want and how aggressively you want to grow your schedule.

Financial Outlook

The first general surgeon in the county has immediate access to referrals from internal medicine and strong endoscopy demand. You decide how much volume to take on. The model rewards surgeons who want to build a productive outpatient practice without the burden of emergency surgery or trauma.
