Position Overview

Understanding the Role

A Practice Built for Efficiency, Access, and Physician-Led Care

From your first day with Springfield Family Physicians (SFP), you’ll feel what sets this group apart: an intentionally designed, physician-run primary care environment where every operational detail supports your ability to practice meaningful, relationship-centered medicine. Rather than navigating bureaucratic layers or fragmented clinic setups, you step into a system where everything you need — from clinical support to diagnostics to administrative assistance — is within arm’s reach, allowing you to focus on the patient experience rather than the logistics of delivering care.

You join a long-standing pillar of the Eugene/Springfield metroplex, where community need remains high and access to primary care is critical. With 25 providers across three clinics, SFP maintains a large regional footprint but preserves the culture of a close, physician-governed practice. The continued demand for primary care ensures that your panel builds naturally and that your presence immediately strengthens access and continuity for families throughout Lane County.

A Role Designed for Flexibility and Balance

Your practice follows a four-day clinical workweek, with a fifth day reserved for administrative needs — a structure that preserves work-life balance and prevents the constant clinical overload common in many primary care settings. Whether you’re seeing established patients, new patients, or performing procedures, appointments are built with realistic times that honor thorough care and help you avoid rushed visits. When paired with SFP’s in-house triage, weekend coverage structure, and support for efficient charting, your workweek becomes both predictable and sustainable.

A Clear, Transparent Structure — Including Optional Partnership

SFP offers two employment models: a perpetual salary or, when available, a potential pathway to partnership. Partnership is not guaranteed and depends solely on tenure and openings created when current partner physicians retire. Today, the group includes nine partners, reflecting long-term stability and satisfaction within the practice.

Key Position Elements

  • Full-time outpatient primary care with a four-day clinical schedule
  • Opportunity to choose employment model through SFP, with optional partnership consideration (not guaranteed)
  • Vital community role serving a fast-growing metropolitan population
  • Supportive governance structure led by practicing physicians
  • Realistic appointment lengths: 40 minutes for new patients/well visits; 20 minutes for standard visits
  • One (1) administrative day weekly to maintain sustainable workloads
  • Employment at one of three clinics across the Eugene/Springfield area, each equipped to support efficient care delivery

This role allows you to practice primary care the way it was intended — grounded in continuity, supported by a strong physician-led structure, and centered around meaningful time with patients.
