Harlan:
Opened March 1, 1956, as one of the original nine Miners Memorial Hospital Association facilities, Harlan ARH Hospital provides care for the residents of Harlan County as well parts of Lether, Leslie and Bell counties in Kentucky and Lee County, Virginia.
Licensed for 120 acute beds and 30 behavioral beds, Harlan ARH Hospital offers a variety of services including wound care pulmonary rehabilitation, sleep studies, inpatient dialysis, women’s health and pediatrics.
The hospital, which serves as an internal medicine residency site, operates one pharmacy and three clinics, including a wound care clinic featuring hyperbaric oxygen treatment.
Harlan ARH Hospital is a Level IV Trauma Center and has been designated as a Wound Care Center of Excellence.
Harlan is looking to add its third OB/GYN to the staff of two, consisting of the experienced and highly rated Dr. Osama Amro, MD, Dr. Boggs (FPOB) and Dr. Yung Lee, MD. Dr. Amro is a stellar clinician, with over a decade of experience in the Harlan region. Dr. Boggs is also settling in nicely with the community and has been here for less than 3 years. After talking with the administration, both Dr. Amro and Dr. Boggs take pride in their work and could use a third OB to assist with volumes, since Dr. Lee takes most of the clinic work.
Middlesboro:
Middlesboro, Kentucky (Appalachian Regional Health – Middlesboro) operates a licensed 96 bed facility with 46 operational beds, operating at a Level IV Trauma designation. The facility is looking to add a third OB/GYN to the staff to join their established team. This is a mostly bread-and-butter opportunity to complement a full slate of laparoscopic procedures, including lower-body procedures. The facility boasts a brand-new DaVinci Xi robot that became fully operational on March 28th of this year. Currently, two General Surgeons have privileges and training on the robot, so any incoming OB will preferably have robotics training.
