Position Overview

Understanding the Role

Baylor Scott & White is recruiting Family Medicine physicians across several outpatient practices in the Fort Worth area. This is one search spanning multiple clinics, so you can explore more than one practice and determine which location and team fit you best. The compensation structure is the same across all locations, which means your decision comes down to practice environment, team size, and where you want to build your life in the Fort Worth market.

The practices range from brand-new clinics that are still establishing their physician teams to larger, established groups with existing infrastructure. Whether you are coming out of residency and want mentorship or you are an experienced physician who wants to help build a practice, there is a setting here that matches.

Why the Position Exists

These openings are driven primarily by growth. Baylor Scott & White typically places an experienced lead physician into a new clinic first and then recruits additional physicians around that provider. At Chisholm Trail, the lead physician recently moved in from another Fort Worth clinic and is establishing the practice, so the next physician joins as a partner in its growth. Where a role is a replacement, it is usually because of a retirement or a physician leaving to start a new clinic.

Practice Setting

  • Outpatient Family Medicine across all locations
  • Standard model is evaluate, manage, and refer to a specialist when appropriate
  • Extensive Baylor Scott & White specialty infrastructure supports easy referral
  • Procedures are optional, not required
  • Weatherford may offer more procedure opportunity given its more rural setting

Qualifications

  • Board-eligible or board-certified Family Medicine physician
  • New graduates and experienced physicians both considered
  • Strong clinical training
  • Comfortable with outpatient primary care and building toward approximately 18 or more patients per day
  • A genuine reason for choosing Fort Worth is important to the client

Schedule

  • Approximately 40 patient-facing hours per week for benefits eligibility
  • Many physicians move toward roughly 4.5 clinical days once established
  • Flexibility in daily start and end times; physicians do not have to work every hour the clinic is open as long as it stays adequately staffed
  • More schedule flexibility develops after the first-year guarantee and ramp-up period

Reporting and Team Structure

Each practice typically has a lead physician who provides day-to-day guidance and mentorship. A new physician is generally not expected to supervise an APP immediately. If that responsibility develops later, Baylor Scott & White has training and resources to support it.

The process is multi-step and designed to confirm fit at both the regional and practice level.
