Navigating the Clinical Component

This position offers an exciting blend of clinical responsibilities, ensuring a dynamic and engaging professional experience. The physician will provide a full scope of OB-GYN services, including routine prenatal and gynecological care, ultrasounds, in-office procedures such as colposcopies, and various contraceptive services. The hospital delivered 375 babies last year, with a practice mix slightly favoring obstetrics, showcasing robust patient demand.

The facility emphasizes safe, patient-centered care with guidelines to transfer patients with high-risk pregnancies or those below 35 weeks of gestation to higher-level care facilities in Austin or Temple. Though the hospital does not currently support VBAC or house a NICU, they operate a Level 1 nursery and rely on robust teleconsultation support for specialized cases. Additionally, the hospital collaborates with a private-practice Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialist based in Marble Falls, who provides outpatient consults for high-risk pregnancies. 

Obstetric Services

The hospital’s labor and delivery facilities are designed to provide exceptional care and comfort:

  • Three private labor and delivery rooms, offering spacious accommodations for mothers and birthing partners.
  • Eight postpartum beds for continued care after delivery.
  • A surgical suite within the labor and delivery unit to accommodate caesarean (C-section) births.
  • The primary C-section rate is 10% with 0% complications, reflecting a strong commitment to patient safety and excellent obstetric outcomes.
  • Three triage/outpatient test and treatment rooms for initial evaluations and monitoring.
  • A secured unit ensuring the safety of mothers and newborns.
  • Certified lactation consultants available to support breastfeeding mothers.
  • Amenities such as private bathrooms with showers, cable TV, phone access, and Wi-Fi throughout the hospital.

Visitation is open 24 hours a day, allowing family and friends to support mothers and their newborns during their hospital stay.

To enhance patient comfort and safety, Anesthesiologists provide epidural coverage and OR coverage, ensuring comprehensive pain management and surgical support

Gynecological Services

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Marble Falls offers a comprehensive suite of gynecological services, leveraging advanced technology to ensure accurate diagnostics and effective treatment options. Services include:

  • Routine well-woman exams and manual breast exams.
  • Contraceptive services and family planning.
  • Diagnosis and management of menstrual problems, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes and sexual dysfunction.
  • Hormone replacement therapy for aging-related health concerns.
  • Advanced surgical options such as breast and gynecological surgeries, including laparoscopic procedures.
  • Support for urogynecologic conditions, including urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and pelvic pain.

Women’s diagnostic services include:

  • 2D and 3D mammography, including diagnostic and screening mammograms.
  • Breast ultrasound and needle biopsies.
  • OB ultrasounds for pregnancy care.
  • Bone density testing for osteoporosis diagnosis and management.

Future Opportunities
Plans to integrate robotic-assisted surgery in the future are under review, offering exciting growth opportunities for the practice. Until then, the system provides access to robotic facilities at other Baylor Scott & White locations to maintain surgical skills.

Since 2015, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Marble Falls has been recognized as a Texas Ten Step Program facility by the Texas Department of State Health Services. This designation highlights the hospital's commitment to promoting breastfeeding as the preferred method of feeding for newborns and providing supportive resources for new mothers.

The clinical team is committed to safe, patient-centered care, with a low C-section rate and an emphasis on achieving positive maternal and infant outcomes. Nurses are highly skilled, with ongoing training and participation in interdisciplinary simulations to maintain their readiness for diverse patient scenarios.
