We have a need for 1 full-time gastroenterologist in Helena and 2 full-time gastroenterologists in Great Falls, Montana. The current team consists of 3 MDs, 3 Advanced Practice Providers, and 1 PA. There is a brand new 24,000 sq ft. endoscopy space for the team opening in December of 2024.

Benefis Health System in Montana offers an unparalleled opportunity to join a thriving practice with cutting-edge technology and a supportive team. Imagine working in a brand new, 24,000 sq ft endoscopy center - This facility doubles the current size and capacity, featuring 10 procedure rooms, each equipped with dedicated anesthesia equipment. You'll have access to the latest Olympus technology and a dedicated inpatient procedure room starting at 7:30 AM for efficient management of emergent cases. GI’s will have the ability to work 2 rooms at once, and you will have a CRNA or MD for anesthesia.
With a current backlog of approximately 1,200 scopes waiting to be scheduled and patient wait times of 6-9 months, you'll never be short of work. The practice sees 14-18 cases per day in Great Falls alone, offering a mix of routine endoscopies, colonoscopies, and complex cases. ERCP volumes average about 1 per day, with total procedures ranging from 2-8 per day for inpatient GI. ERCP is available for Inpatient and EUS is available for Outpatient. This high-demand, high-volume practice ensures a dynamic and fulfilling work environment.
At Benefis Health System, we understand the importance of flexibility and work-life balance. Choose between outpatient and inpatient roles, or create a custom mix that suits your preferences. Outpatient hours typically run Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, while inpatient coverage is from 6:30-6:45 AM until 12-4 PM, depending on volume. We offer flexible scheduling options, including part-time positions and block scheduling (e.g., 3 weeks on, 5 weeks off). Full-time outpatient work consists of 44 weeks per year, while a full-time hospitalist role involves 146 (24 hour) shifts annually.
You'll be backed by an exceptional support team, including 3 APPs handling most clinic and follow-up work, a nurse practitioner managing referrals, PA support for inpatient work, a dedicated endoscopy nursing team, GI navigators for patient screening and review, and a built-in scope scheduling team. This robust support structure allows you to focus on providing the best possible care to your patients.
Our compensation package is designed to reward your skills and hard work. With a base salary of $550,000+ and the potential to earn over $1,000,000 with wRVU production-based incentives from day one, your earning potential is substantial. We also offer a $40,000 signing bonus, 8 weeks of paid time off (6 weeks' vacation, 2 weeks CME), a comprehensive benefits package, 5% 403(b) match and 457(b) option, and occurrence-based malpractice coverage.
