At Big Sandy Medical Center, you will have the opportunity to provide comprehensive primary care and emergency services to a diverse patient population in a tight-knit rural community.
As a physician, your clinical responsibilities will include managing a broad spectrum of conditions and cases in the ER, Primary Care Clinic, and the inpatient units. The cases range from minor lacerations to heart attacks, strokes, and traumatic injuries. You will provide lifesaving interventions and stabilization before transfer to a higher level of care when needed.
Caring for patients of all ages in the outpatient clinic with a blend of patient volume in the local agricultural and ranching community. There is a decent amount of geriatric patients that come in Big Sandy was voted to have one of the best long-term care units, Those patients are referred to as “ residents” and have a tight-knit bond with the facility. There is a presence of Indigenous, Native American communities in the area. You will treat chronic illnesses, acute infections, injuries, and more. Prescribing medications, ordering labs and diagnostic imaging, performing procedures, and coordinating care with specialists.
The medical center offers primary care, dental, behavioral health, specialty, and hospice services in addition to the ER. You will work alongside a collaborative team of physicians, NPs, PAs, RNs, medical assistants, social workers, and other staff.
This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference in a small, rural town with year-round outdoor recreation just minutes away. Our facility has a true community hospital feel where compassionate, patient-centered care is our priority. The call is shared equitably among the provider team and includes nights and weekends. The schedule will be determined once the new provider joins the team.
