This 100% outpatient Geriatric Medicine position at Bozeman Health offers a structured and balanced clinical schedule designed to support both professional excellence and work-life balance. The incoming Geriatrician will play a vital role in expanding specialized services, including consultative dementia care, osteoporosis management, and the development of future interdisciplinary programs in memory care and outpatient palliative services. Additionally, plans are underway to launch a home-based heart failure program aimed at reducing hospital readmissions and enhancing patient outcomes.

Schedule and Workload:

  • 4-day workweek: 32 clinical hours + 4 administrative hours
  • Total workdays per year: 173 days (after 6 weeks of PTO and holidays)
  • Patient volume: 5–6 patients per half-day, allowing for in-depth patient care.
  • Call schedule: 1:8 rotation with 3–4 days of phone-only call every eight weeks; Nurse Practitioners manage their own call responsibilities

Patient Population:
The practice serves a medically complex geriatric population, focusing on higher-acuity patients who are often physically independent but require specialized care. Common consults include dementia evaluations, osteoporosis management, and palliative care planning. A dedicated team of seven experienced Nurse Practitioners (NPs)/Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) manages routine care, home visits, and skilled nursing facility patients, allowing the incoming Geriatrician to focus on advanced, complex cases.

  • Memory Care Clinics with interdisciplinary teams
  • Expanded Palliative Care services in the outpatient setting
  • Home-Based Heart Failure Program in partnership with cardiology specialists

Additionally, the practice offers teaching opportunities through the WWAMI Medical Education Program, allowing physicians to engage with medical students and future residents as the program grows.
