CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic is recruiting a board-certified Hematologist and Oncologist to join the Cabrini Cancer Center, a Commission on Cancer accredited community-based cancer program in Alexandria, Louisiana. The role offers a five-day outpatient schedule with no nights, no weekends, and APP-supported coverage that limits after-hours physician involvement.
Setting: CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic, Cabrini Cancer Center
Sites: Two locations, South on the hospital campus and North
Accreditation: Commission on Cancer (CoC)
Schedule: Four 8-hour days and half day on Friday, no nights, no weekends
Practice Mix: 90 percent outpatient, 10 percent inpatient
Daily Volume: 17 to 20 patients
Call: 1:4 physician, backup to APPs
APP Support: 3 APPs taking first call
EMR: Epic
The Cabrini Cancer Center oncology team is operating at full capacity, with incoming referrals coming from the CHRISTUS hospital-employed primary care network. Several malignant hematology cases, including sickle cell and leukemia, are currently sent to LSU Cancer Center Shreveport, Ochsner MD Anderson, or MD Anderson Houston for management. A physician with hematology subspecialty interest would have the option to keep more of those cases in-house.
