Clinical Component

Navigating the Clinical Component

The clinical team handles a wide range of procedures, with the majority of cases involving orthopedics, general surgery, GYN, and neurosurgery. A smaller number of ENT and podiatry cases are also covered. The team aims to manage three operating rooms, staffing them five days a week, although current volumes require fewer days. The surgery center, which handles more volume than the hospital, may transfer some procedures to the hospital as needed. The anesthesia team does not focus on specialized cases such as high-risk pain management, although this could be explored depending on candidate interests.

Anesthesiologists and CRNAs share a one-in-four call rotation. The CRNAs have the opportunity to take primary or backup call, with compensation reflecting their choice. A key responsibility of the anesthesiology team is to cover obstetric anesthesia, as the hospital manages around 200–250 deliveries per year.
