You will join a collaborative group of physicians and advanced practice providers who are deeply committed to women’s health in southwest Oklahoma. The addition of a second OBGYN hospitalist is designed to create balance — not only for patients, but also for the physicians who serve them. This structure allows outpatient-based providers to focus on clinic care without being pulled constantly to the hospital, improving both patient access and physician satisfaction.
Your immediate hospitalist partner will be Dr. Berman, who currently provides extensive coverage, including 14 nights per month and multiple call weekends. His dedication has sustained the program, but the addition of a second hospitalist ensures long-term sustainability. You’ll work an alternating schedule with Dr. Berman, providing seamless patient coverage while protecting each other’s personal time and longevity in the role.
By alleviating pressure on other OBGYNs in the community, your role contributes to physician retention across the system. Colleagues recognize the importance of hospitalist support, and the culture reflects appreciation for those who step into this crucial role. Rather than shouldering an exhausting call burden, you will be part of a model that promotes balance, teamwork, and a more sustainable approach to women’s health.
