Position Overview

Understanding the Role

Community Medical Anesthesia Consultants is a physician-owned anesthesiology group recruiting full-time anesthesiologists to join a team of 32 physicians serving three hospitals in the Fresno area, all part of the Community Medical Centers network. The group operates under an exclusive anesthesia contract across these sites and provides coverage for operating rooms, obstetrics, and trauma. This is a production-based practice built for physicians who want autonomy and want their earnings to reflect the work they put in.

The group is hiring to keep pace with growing surgical volume across the system and to add coverage as several senior partners transition to part-time schedules. Openings include one cardiac anesthesiologist position and multiple general anesthesiology positions.

Why This Role Exists

  • Surgical and procedural volume across the three hospitals continues to grow
  • Several senior partners are moving to part-time schedules, increasing the need for full-time coverage
  • The group wants to protect its post-call and time-off structure by adding physicians rather than stretching the current team

Practice Setting

  • Physician-owned, 1099 independent contractor model
  • Equal earning footing from day one, with no buy-in and no partnership track to complete
  • Coverage across three Community Medical Centers hospitals: Community Regional Medical Center (downtown), Clovis Community Medical Center, and Fresno Heart and Surgical Hospital
  • Independent practice with no CRNA supervision; physicians manage their own cases
  • Small group overhead handled through a contracted healthcare management company
