Andrea Chan, MD is a certified urologist by the American Board of Urology. Dr. Chan grew up in Southern California. She graduated from University of California at Los Angeles with honors, and went on to earned her medical degree at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Chan completed her internship and residency in general surgery and urology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, where she served as chief resident and was recognized as Urology Resident of the Year. Through her training at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and Texas Medical Center, Dr. Chan has worked with world-class physicians and has an impressive research and publication record in her field. Dr. Chan is a member of the American Urological Association and Western Section of the American Urological Association.
Dr. Chan’s expertise encompasses all aspects of general urology including urologic cancers, prostate diseases, kidney stone therapy, voiding dysfunction and incontinence. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and is an avid runner.
Michael C. Jacobson, M.D., Ph.D., graduated magna cum laude from Carleton College in Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 1992, and went on to get his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Washington in Seattle in 1997. He was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Stockholm in Sweden, studying atmospheric chemistry as part of his graduate work.
After working as a chemist and doing additional training in medical genetics, he went back for his medical degree from the University of Washington in Seattle. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in urology at U.C. Davis in Sacramento, California.
Dr. Jacobson practiced primarily in Monterey before coming to Fresno to join Community Health Partners. He is certified by the American Board of Urology.
When he’s not practicing medicine, Dr. Jacobson enjoys road and gravel biking, hiking or walking on the beach with his dog, studying languages, traveling and cooking, especially Japanese food.
