The Godwin Healing Center is affiliated with the Duke Cancer Network, providing access to advanced clinical trials, the latest cancer research, and best practices. This partnership supports ongoing staff education and training, enhancing overall quality of care for patients.
Position Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of cancer and blood disorders
- Lead and mentor a growing team of physicians, APPs, and oncology nurses
- Collaborate with hospital leadership and Duke Cancer Network experts
- Improve clinic workflows and ensure high-quality, evidence-based care
- Develop and launch new treatment services or community outreach initiatives
- Engage in strategic planning to expand the oncology service line

- Coastal Cancer Center – 5 Physicians
- Associated Medical Specialists – 1 Physician
Typical Schedule
- Full-time position – 4.5 days per week
- 36 Patient Contact Hours – plus 4 Admin Hours/week
- Visit Times: 1 Hour for New Patients, 30/45 Minutes for Follow-ups
- Call Schedule: 1:3 Consult Only – No Admissions (Goal: 1:4)
- Call is taken in 1-week blocks
- Consults and rounding handled by the physician on call
Practice Details
- Current Mix: 40% Oncology / 60% Hematology
- Goal Mix: 60% Oncology / 40% Hematology
- Patient Volume: Currently 12–15 patients/day; goal is 15–18
- Support: Each physician has a dedicated RN
