As a General Non-Invasive Cardiologist at Mercy Medical Group, you will be joining Dr. Smith who is the only practicing general practicing Cardiologist in the Grass Valley city. However, the call schedule will be 1:4, as it is currently split between Dr. Smith and Dr. Zareh who drive up from Sacramento to assist with the call. Additionally, they have various locums' cardiologists that also assist with coverage until the two full time vacancies are filled. The current volumes for Dr. Smith’s hospital call days, he averages between 2-3 new patient consultations, 2-3 follow-ups, 7 Echos and supervises 5 stress tests and 1 TEE. He is home by 6pm and takes ER calls after 7pm; Dr. Smith is rarely called in overnight; he averages coming into the hospital once a week, and you can expect to be finished with your days by 6pm. During your outpatient clinic days, you can average between 10-13 patients per day. Dr. Smith currently averages 15-20 EKGS per day that will be split in half between the new cardiologists. Additionally, he is averaging 2-3 SE’S, and 4-6 LEXI’s in clinic. These volumes are expected to increase with the upcoming Cardiologist that will be joining that can take on the waitlists of new patients.
