Join Our Team: Occupational Medicine Opportunity at Good Shepherd

Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston, OR, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Medicine Physician to take over as the primary provider from Dr. Fulper. This role offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 8 am to 5 pm, with no call responsibilities, allowing for an excellent work-life balance. The physician will see a patient volume of 15 to 20 per day, supported by a highly collaborative medical team, including one Medical Assistant (MA) and one Registered Nurse (RN). With a strong referral network from hospital-employed primary care physicians, this role provides ample opportunity to lead and grow within the health system, including physician leadership positions.

The scope of practice encompasses a wide range of occupational health services, focusing on Workers' Compensation and Employer Health primarily within the agriculture and Department of Transportation (DOT) industries. The physician will manage comprehensive Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs, including D.O.T. Drug Consortium services, company drug testing, breath alcohol testing, MRO services, and hair drug analysis, with 15-minute drug screening available. Physical examinations are also a key component of the role, covering D.O.T. Physicals, Post-Offer Examinations, Fitness for Duty Assessments, and Annual Physical Screening Exams.

The physician will also address Workman's Compensation cases, offering occupational medical consultation, medical case management, and injury or illness care. OSHA mandates will be a critical part of the practice, including managing Hearing Conservation Programs, Respirator Clearance, Quantitative Respirator Mask Fit Testing, and HAZMAT Surveillance. Additionally, the physician will provide training programs on topics such as Workplace Violence, Ergonomics, Substance Abuse, and Blood Borne Pathogens.
