Healthcare System Overview

An In-Depth Look into the Healthcare System

Since its establishment in 1954, GSMC has been pivotal in addressing the healthcare needs of Eastern Oregon and stands as the primary component within the Good Shepherd Health Care System. Accredited by Det Norske Veritas (DNV), we are equipped with cutting-edge technology uncommon in smaller medical facilities. The Good Shepherd Health Care System encompasses a comprehensive range of services, including Medical/Surgical, OB/GYN, Critical Care, Surgery Services, IV Therapy/Oncology, Physical/Speech/Respiratory Therapy, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Pain Management, Sleep Therapy, and Dermatology.

GSMC's physicians specialize in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics, Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Urology. Operating 24/7, our Trauma Level 3 Emergency Room ensures timely access to critical care. Affiliated divisions such as Vange John Memorial Hospice, Good Shepherd Clinic Pharmacy, Good Shepherd Medical Group, Home Health & Home Medical Equipment contribute to the broader Good Shepherd Health Care System. Additionally, the Good Shepherd Medical Foundation aids in fulfilling the hospital's mission, while the Good Shepherd Community Health Foundation, functioning as a distinct entity, manages and allocates community-raised funds to health-related projects within the community.
