Understanding the Role
Good Shepherd Medical Center is hiring an Advanced Practice Provider, either NP or PA, to join its endocrinology service line in Hermiston, Oregon. This is a growth position that supports expansion of the single-physician endocrinology practice and provides coverage during the staff endocrinologist's scheduled paternity leave in Fall 2026. The role is fully outpatient with no call.
Role Purpose
- Expand patient access within a growing single-physician endocrinology practice
- Provide clinical coverage during scheduled physician leave in Fall 2026
- Maintain continuity of care for an established panel of endocrinology patients
- Collaborate closely with the staff endocrinologist and the shared clinical team
Practice Setting
- Community-owned, independent hospital with zero debt
- Hospital-employed model
- Outpatient clinic, no inpatient rounding
- Shared clinic space, support staff, and patient flow with the existing endocrinologist

Qualifications
- Board certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP) or Physician Assistant (NCCPA)
- Active or eligible Oregon license
- Endocrinology experience preferred
- CDCES credential a plus
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage general adult endocrinology, including diabetes, thyroid, and hormone disorders
- Provide chronic care and long-term follow-up for established patients
- Coordinate with medical assistants, care coordinator, and practice manager for continuity
- Practice under the collaborative agreement of Sandeep Kunwar, MD
Reporting and Service Area
The APP practices under the collaborative agreement of the staff endocrinologist, Sandeep Kunwar, MD, and works within Good Shepherd Medical Group's shared clinical and administrative support structure. Good Shepherd Medical Center serves Hermiston and the surrounding Umatilla County region in northeastern Oregon, with a referral reach that extends into southeastern Washington and the Tri-Cities corridor.
