Navigating the Clinical Component

Jefferson Healthcare’s dermatology clinic provides a comprehensive range of services to meet the diverse skin health needs of its community. Providers will manage cases across general dermatology, focusing on preventive care, diagnosis, and treatment of skin conditions, including eczema, psoriasis, acne, and rosacea. The clinic also excels in managing more advanced concerns such as melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and other skin cancers. Acute cases, including skin infections and rashes, are routinely addressed, ensuring a varied and engaging clinical practice.

For those with Mohs surgery expertise, Jefferson Healthcare offers an outstanding opportunity to expand the scope of services, delivering highly effective and precise skin cancer treatments. This addition would complement the clinic’s existing capabilities and further enhance its reputation for providing exceptional dermatologic care. Providers with or without Mohs training are welcomed, with a preference for candidates experienced in in-office dermatologic procedures, including excisions, biopsies, and minor surgical interventions.

Jefferson Healthcare’s dermatology services are supported by advanced technology and a skilled clinical team. Providers work alongside dedicated medical assistants in a 1:1 staffing model, with RN triage support ensuring seamless patient flow. An in-house histotechnician further streamlines procedures by preparing and analyzing skin samples with efficiency and precision. This structure allows clinicians to focus fully on patient care during eight clinical hours each day, balanced by two hours of dedicated administrative time.

The clinic emphasizes the importance of proactive and preventive care, offering treatments such as phototherapy with narrowband UVB and comprehensive annual skin exams. These services are tailored to educate patients on skin cancer prevention while addressing immediate dermatologic concerns. A commitment to quality is reflected in their meticulous tracking of melanoma follow-up appointments and the provision of detailed after-visit summaries, which empower patients to take an active role in their care.

With Jefferson Healthcare undergoing significant growth, the dermatology clinic is poised to expand its services and infrastructure by mid-2025, ensuring greater access and enhanced offerings for patients. This growth aligns with the organization’s mission to provide innovative, patient-centered care while maintaining a supportive environment for its clinical team.

The absence of on-call requirements further ensures work-life balance for providers, allowing them to fully engage in delivering top-tier care during scheduled hours. This opportunity is ideal for compassionate dermatologists, particularly those with a keen interest in procedural dermatology and skin cancer treatment, who seek a thriving and collaborative practice environment.
