Dr. Cook joined the JHC team in 2015. He attended medical school at the Medical College of Virginia at VCU and completed his internship and residency at Johns Hopkins. He has practiced in the Lynchburg area for over 25 years and was the President of the Lynchburg Academy of Medicine from 2004 to 2005. In his spare time, Dr. Cook enjoys outdoor activities, swimming, boating and tennis. He is married with four children and one grandson.
Dr. Brian Assent joined Johnson Health Center in 2019. He is currently serving as the Medical Director of OBGYN. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida. Dr. Assent attended the Medical University of the Americas in the West Indies and completed his residency at the Aultman Hospital in Ohio. His special interests include complete obstetrical care, preventative care, family planning, robotic gynecological surgery, laparoscopic surgery, incontinence, tubal ligations and ablations. He comes to Lynchburg from Ohio with his wife and three daughters. He enjoys traveling, music and spending time with his family.
Dr. Puckett has been in practice since 1980 and joined our JHC team in January of 2014. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond and earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago. Dr. Puckett completed his residency training at New York Hospital in New York, New York. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. In his spare time, Dr. Puckett enjoys participating in musical organizations, cycling and traveling.
Molly joined JHC’s OB/GYN department in November 2019. Molly graduated from Virginia Tech, with a degree in biology. She then went on to attend the University of Lynchburg, where she received her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Medicine and her Doctorate in Medical Science. After graduating, she completed a fellowship in Women’s Health. In her spare time, Molly enjoys hiking and traveling with her husband.
Grace joined our OB/GYN team in February 2023, bringing with her over 10 years of nursing experience. She previously worked in labor and delivery, postpartum and pediatric units. She obtained her Associate’s in Nursing from Kenya Medical Training College, before going on to earn her Bachelor’s in Nursing from Pennsylvania State University. Grace completed her Master’s in Nursing with a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner concentration at the University of South Alabama. She graduated with honors and was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. In her spare time, Grace enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, travelling and camping.
