This is a full-scope OB/GYN growth position at Lee Health in Fort Myers, Florida. You will practice at Medical Plaza 1 for clinic work, with deliveries and surgeries performed at HealthPark Medical Center. The Level III NICU at Golisano Children's Hospital is adjacent and within walking distance.
Lee Health serves as the primary healthcare system for Southwest Florida, covering Lee County and surrounding communities. The region has experienced significant population growth, particularly as residents return following hurricane recovery and new developments continue throughout the area. This growth has driven a substantial increase in delivery volume, creating genuine need for additional OB/GYN physicians. HealthPark Medical Center currently averages 260 deliveries per month, and the practice operates at the 75th percentile for productivity.
You will join an established team of 13 OB/GYN physicians, 16 certified nurse midwives, one women's health nurse practitioner, and one women's health psychologist. Two OB hospitalists provide 24/7 coverage at HealthPark, handling unassigned patients and supporting the CNMs with C-sections. This structure allows you to focus on your panel while knowing backup is always available.
The position follows a 4.5-day clinic week plus one OR day for surgeries. When on call, you have no clinic responsibilities and focus entirely on labor and delivery coverage. Call is currently 1:9 or 1:10 with 24-hour shifts only; there are no 48-hour shifts. Leadership aims to maintain two physicians on call simultaneously given the high acuity and volume.
You will report to Dr. Theo Harris, Medical Director, and work closely with Debbie Pentek, Practice Director. The practice welcomes new graduates, mid-career physicians, and experienced providers. A new GME program launched in 2025 with family medicine residents rotating through the OB clinic. Teaching is recommended but not required.
This opportunity suits physicians who thrive in high-volume, high-acuity environments and want a balanced OB and GYN practice. The combination of strong clinical support, modern facilities, and a growing patient population creates genuine professional opportunity for physicians ready to build a busy practice in Southwest Florida.
