Why the Role Exists

The clinic places behavioral health inside primary care so patients can move from a medical visit to a behavioral health assessment through a warm handoff. Your role keeps that access in place for patients and gives associate clinicians the supervision they need to complete their licensure hours.

Your Role

The position combines direct patient care with clinical leadership. About 70% of your time goes to direct patient care, and the remainder goes to supervision and program oversight.

Clinical Leadership

  • Supervise 1 to 2 associate clinicians completing hours toward licensure
  • Dedicate 6 to 8 hours per week to individual and group clinical supervision
  • Staff caseloads with the clinical team and monitor use of evidence-based practices
  • Work with leadership on the training and development plan for clinical staff
  • Conduct peer review audits

Direct Patient Care

  • Accept warm handoffs from the primary care team
  • Conduct intake assessments, screenings, and psychosocial evaluations
  • Deliver brief, evidence-based interventions such as behavioral activation, problem-solving therapy, and motivational interviewing
  • Build treatment plans with primary care providers
  • Connect patients with local resources, including transportation, housing, and financial assistance
  • Provide about 30% of visits through telehealth
