Maury Regional Medical Center is seeking an Internal Medicine and an IM/Ped Physician to fill our Nocturnist shifts and become part of our 22 physician Hospitalist team. With a very low turnover rate as an organization, our need is due to the growing community and already approved hospital expansion in the near future. Our CEO and COO are both IM/Ped Physicians who started the group.
We have a mix of Internal Medicine and Med/Ped Physician staff who work well together and are able to provide a great work life balance. The Nocturnist team works together to provide a flexible work schedule. We can accommodate shifts in blocks of 4, 5, 6, and 7, to provide you with the time needed with family. All Hospitalist & Nocturnist work 12 shifts per month. With a 7pm to 7am schedule for the Nocturnist, with an average census of 130.
The Nocturnist schedule consists of 2 Physicians and 1 Nurse Practitioner per shift. Average rounding volume for the evening shift is 12-13 patients with 14-15 admissions per night. We also provide APP cross coverage rounding, responding to pages and rapid response. Nocturnist physicians also round and admit via TeleDoc to Maury RMC’s sister hospital Marshal Medical Center, a 25-bed critical access hospital.
Our daytime Hospitalist schedule consists of 7 rounders and 1 NP working from 7am – 7pm, see an average of 18 patients per day. We also provide a swing shift Hospitalist from 1pm to 11pm to assist with admissions during the day and evening.
Keep your skill and training current. See everything with the exception of complex cardiothoracic cases, Cabbage, neurointerventions, and embolization. In addition, we have a 25-bed observation unit on the 1st floor which will be staffed by one physician & two NPs which they plan to keep full all day. This will be low acuity, high turnover.
When discussing the ICU team with the Co-Director of Hospitalist Medicine he stated “One our Intensive Care Group is phenomenal and there's nothing they can't do up there.”
Med/Ped physicians will see 90% adults and 10% Pediatrics on average. Med/Peds also round in the nursery with an average of 4-6 babies. Typically have a low acuity of pediatric patients with lots of simple asthma, pneumonia, UTIs, occasional hypermobility babies.
Vanderbilt, Centennial and St. Thomas in Nashville are the referral centers.
