Physician Recruitment Process and Compensation Overview

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids offers a highly competitive compensation and benefits package designed to attract experienced anesthesiologists who will play a pivotal role in establishing the hospital’s new in-house anesthesia team. This package provides exceptional earning potential, strong work-life balance, and long-term financial security while rewarding physicians for their expertise and leadership contributions.

Compensation Structure

  • Base Salary: $600,000 – A highly competitive, guaranteed salary.
  • Call Pay: $1,760 per shift – For any call shifts exceeding the required 35 per year.
  • Total Potential Earnings: $700,000+ – Depending on additional call and leadership responsibilities.

The compensation model is structured to support financial stability while maintaining a sustainable workload.

Bonuses & Incentives

  • Sign-On Bonus: $300,000
    $150,000 paid at signing
    $150,000 paid at the start date
  • Relocation Assistance – Generous financial support to ease the transition

Physicians seeking leadership roles may also be eligible for additional compensation incentives related to directorship positions within the department.
