An incoming CRNA should be expected to administer and provide anesthesia-related care to patients before, during, and after surgery. CRNAs work with various medical practitioners, mainly surgeons at MPH Granby, and act as a liaison between the patient and their leading care provider.
There are 3 nurses, 3 technicians, and one instrument technician that are currently on staff. George Rojas, Director of Surgical Services, also occasionally scrubs in to help out. Dr. Eckerman is the primary anesthesiologist on staff, and he works on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays while having his own practice closer to Denver. He is incredibly personable and is happy to help whenever he is needed. He also does pain management on Fridays.
To further comment on the collegial environment between surgeons and support staff, each doctor was happy to tell me about the good relationship between CRNAs and doctors. The services of each provider play a huge part in decreasing patient times in the PACUs and helps to increase the volumes of patients that MPH can see in surgery.
