An In-Depth Look into the Healthcare System
Norman Regional Health System is an independent, multi-campus health system serving south central Oklahoma from its base in Norman, 20 minutes south of Oklahoma City. It is operated by the Norman Regional Hospital Authority, a public trust, which means decisions are made locally by leadership you can reach rather than at a corporate office in another state. The system describes itself as one of the last independent health systems in the country.
The flagship, Norman Regional Hospital, has been expanded and modernized under the system's Inspire Health plan, and the cardiovascular program has the accreditations and infrastructure of a much larger metro hospital.

- Norman Regional Hospital, the acute care flagship at I-35 and Tecumseh Road in Norman, with a new patient bed tower, 24/7 cardiac catheterization labs, a hybrid OR, and a cardiac electrophysiology lab that opened in 2025
- Heart Plaza, the cardiovascular clinic building adjacent to the hospital, home to Norman Heart and Vascular Associates and the cardiothoracic surgery clinic
- Norman Regional Moore, an emergency-plus facility on I-35 in Moore with a 24/7 ER, imaging, lab, physical therapy, and physician offices

The CEO is a physician, and the board is chaired by a practicing primary care physician with a cardiologist serving on the finance committee. Physician leadership is built into how the system is governed.
Community Commitment
Norman Regional funds 28 health professionals in Norman Public Schools and one in Noble Public Schools, provides athletic trainers for Norman Public Schools, prepares 1,250 meals per week for Meals on Wheels, and supplies Stop the Bleed kits and training to five area school districts.
