Physician Recruitment Process and Compensation Overview

Compensation is a flat base salary with no production requirement.

The base salary does not go away, so your earnings are not tied to wRVUs, visit volume, or collections. The structure reflects the nature of the role, which is built around medical evaluation, program development, and legal and academic work rather than clinical throughput.

Compensation Structure

Sign-On Bonus Negotiable with Ochsner
Benefits Health, dental, and vision coverage
Retirement 401(k) with a 4 percent employee contribution and 2 percent employer match, plus 403(b) and 457(b) plans
Paid time off 20 days
CME 10 days with a $2,000 allowance
Malpractice coverage Occurrence-based, which carries no tail liability

Additional Compensation

  • Sign-on bonus: amount not set, negotiable with Ochsner
  • Relocation: $6,000 (taxable)
  • Student loan support: eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness through nonprofit employment, with a financial team available to help you navigate the process
